Indiana Williams began her football journey at age 10 when Brisbane Lions coach Craig Starcevich visited her Hervey Bay primary school, sparking her interest in Australian rules football. Progressing through club footy with the Hervey Bay Bombers and joining the Lions Academy, AND NOW Indiana has emerged as a genuine AFLW Draft prospect, representing Queensland in the AFL Women’s Under 18 Championships and catching scouts’ attention.
Standing at 176cm, Indiana primarily plays as a defender, showcasing versatility on the field with impressive marking ability and running capacity. Inspired by role model Natalie Grider, she aims to improve speed, agility, and contested marking. Excelling in aerial contests, Indiana is determined to further enhance her game.
Balancing football with life, Indiana has already graduated from school, providing her with an advantage to focus solely on football without Year 12 distractions. She was drafted as an Academy priority selection to the Brisbane Lions at Pick #28 after the Adealdie Crows bid on Indi beforehand.
